Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
• Knowledge and awareness of cultural values and practices within community
• Awareness of and demonstrated ability to relate to families facing multiple challenges relating to parenting
• Experience working with children from 0 – 3 years is an asset.
• Knowledge of child development and family dynamics (an Early Childhood Worker or Educational Assistant certificate is an asset)
• Minimum requirement is a high school diploma
• Basic computer skills are required
• Good written and oral communication skills
• Ability to work in a team environment
• Demonstrate maturity and positive attitude
• Able to work flexible hours
• Previous working experience with First Nations people and demonstrate an understanding of the health and social issues encountered by First Nation people and a willingness to learn about and accept First Nations cultures
• A successful criminal record check with vulnerable sector.
