HIV Outreach Worker
Battle River Treaty 6 Health Centre Inc. is not just another health organization, we are rooted in the culture of our member bands and treaty right to health. We work for the people living on the member bands of Little Pine, Lucky Man, Poundmaker, and Sweetgrass First Nations; and believe in the services being driven by the needs of the clients and community. QUALIFICATIONS
• Minimum of a diploma in mental health and addictions or other human services or a combination of education and related experience.
• Ability to work independently with demonstrated planning, organization skills and strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to plan and deliver educational sessions on healthy sexuality and harm reduction in an appropriate manner.
• Strong computer skills with knowledge of Microsoft Office programs, social media platforms and video development process.
• Possess a valid driver’s license and access to vehicle during working hours.
• Ability to interact with a diverse group of people in a non-judgmental manner.
• Must demonstrate an understanding of health and social issues facing Indigenous people, people who use drugs, youth, and people who identify as 2SLGBTQ+.
• Must be in good physical health as activities require bending, kneeling, pulling, reaching, lifting, and performing repetitive movements.
• Must be able to work as an effective team member and to work independently, in a self- motivated manner.
• Have an awareness of cultural values and practices within Indigenous communities surrounding the Battlefords.
• Have a demonstrated ability to maintain confidential information.
• Demonstrate a high degree of flexibility and adaptability to balance the changing needs of the organization and the communities.
• A successful criminal record check with vulnerable sector.
