Qualification and Experience:

·        A minimum of a Diploma in Addictions and certified or eligible for certification with an addictions related governing body

·        A minimum of two (2) years experience working with marginalized populations affected by addictions in a health-related field

·        Knowledge of addictions, harm reduction theory, teaching/learning principles and motivational interviewing

·        Demonstrated approach and strength based, client centered and trauma informed practices.

·        Demonstrated knowledge of community resources and programming supportive of this client population

·        Demonstrated performance of appropriate documentation, record keeping and data collection functions

·        Demonstrates knowledge and understanding of traditional Indigenous values, beliefs and healing approaches and a willingness to learn about and accept First Nations cultures

·        Incumbent is self-directed and requires minimal supervision.

·        Incumbent can demonstrate agency values in the work they do daily with BRT6HC First Nations communities, clients, co-workers and partnering agencies.

·        Successful criminal record with vulnerable sector check
