Head Start Program

Program Overview

The Head Start program is a voluntary.  Is not a preschool program, but a family program.  We take pride in being able to offer our program in different ways.  Here at BRT6HC, we are unique in the way we offer this program to our communities.  We are the only organization in the province that offers Head Start through home visiting.  We utilize different ways to meet the needs of our children & families.  Our programming can be in the home, at the health clinic, at the hall, outdoors spaces, a field trip &/or day camp.  The program is open to children from 0 to 6 years old.

Purpose

The foundation of our program is built on enhancing our First Nations identity, culture, language, traditions & our Nehiyaw ways of knowing.  We have Elder and our Cultural Facilitator’s involvement & guidance in our programming.
