Our Maternal Child Health Program consists of 3 Family Health Workers. One worker for each community. They are a valued member of a multi-disciplinary health team. Their goal is to provide culturally appropriate support to promote and encourage a healthy baby, a healthy family, and a healthy community. They are liaisons with the community and the program to identify and inform prenatal and post natal women of the health services and programs delivered in their community. They work closely with the prenatal women with the goal of reducing the risk of poor birth outcomes by providing early access to supports services and education. They provide ongoing, strength-based support, education, and advocacy services, primarily through home visits, to prenatal and post natal clients.
